Learning to Try for 31 days

This post is dedicated to all of the kind souls who helped me trouble shoot a random but very annoying editing glitch.

This month I'm part of a 31 day blogging challenge being hosted by the Nester. I am equal parts nervous and excited. I only learned about the challenge earlier this week and it has already been a pretty steep learning curve!  My theme for the month is trying new things.  Those who know me well know that this is not something I am good at.  I like the same colors, the same clothes, and the same foods for years on end. But do that too long and your world starts getting very small and you yourself become only a fraction of what you have the potential to be.  So I've been working on expanding my range.  Starting this blog was part of that process. This challenge is another step.  And for the next month I'm going to try at least one new thing each day.  Hopefully most days that will be something decorating or design related, but some days it may just be that I tried something new for breakfast.

(For Day 1 just scroll down!)
Day 2 - Beignets and Bargains
Day 3  - "It's 12 o'clock somewhere" (to be sung to the tune of "it's 5 o'clock somewhere"
Day 4 - Atlanta or bust!
Day 5 - The Bigger Tries
Day 6 - Because yesterday I was inspired and today I rested.
Day 7 - Today I moved a table and I found a new happy place.

************

On this the 1st day of October, in the year of our Lord 2014, I, Chelsea, being in my right and mostly sane mind, tried: listening to Johnny Cash. :-D

I also tried linking up to a giant blogging linking thing. (Successfully! Yay!)

I also attempted to visit an apartment with my sister, but the office was closed, but the point is to try, even if I don't succeed! :-D

I also bought two things at the grocery store I've never bought before, but they are both things I have had before, so I'm not sure if they count.  What do you think?

*************

If you have a suggestion for something I should try this month (that doesn't cost more than about $10) let me know!

Happy October!!!

Chelsea

PS:  I found my topic twin already!  Although it looks like she's got her act together way better than I do!

  1. I think the grocery store purchase definitely counts as trying something new! Double points if you weren't sure where to find those things in the store, or if you didn't know how they would be sold (like, are they sold by the pound, or by the package?). :D

I hope you enjoy whatever new things you try today!

  2. Maybe we are topic triplets! (although I didn't use the same name, but totally almost did!) I'm trying new things almost every day this month too, but you've already beat me as far as trying four different types of things???good job!
